Yushui is the second solar term of the year. The direct translation of this solar term is ‘the rains’: starting from this day, the temperature will rise and more wet weather will come than snow.

Today marks Yushui, the 2nd solar term in traditional East Asian calendar, signaling the blossom of spring sceneries.

Some special customs are still observed in some parts of China on Yushui. For example, married women should visit their own parents on this day, and young women should find themselves a male guardian to protect them.
